Is anxiety disrupting your day-to-day activities?
Everybody has setbacks in their life, and we all fall short of whatever goals we might set for ourselves. It’s normal to have occasional anxiety and this type of anxiety goes away after the situation ends. But, many people suffer from the type of anxiety that does not go away, which gets worse over time. These people frequently experience intense, excessive worry and persistent fear about everyday situations.
Exercise will help reduce your anxiety.
Research confirms that people who engage in regular exercise usually experience fewer symptoms of anxiety. Exercise will improve your mood and improve your self-esteem and brain function. And exercising doesn’t need to be continuous. Just 30 minutes of exercise, (or three 10-minute walks) three times per week is beneficial.
Other benefits of regular exercise:
- Improved sleep
- Increased interest in sex
- Increased endurance, energy, and stamina
- Stress relief
- Improved mental alertness
Anxiety can be useful or harmful. Our mind’s way of responding to failure and setbacks is misleading and potentially damaging. You will hit a rough patch from time to time. However, instead of dwelling on the circumstances, think about how you can achieve a better outcome in the future. If panic and fear are disrupting your ability to function, it may be time to seek professional help.
“Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though sometimes it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and grieves which we endure help us in our march onward.” – Henry Ford
