When we were younger, most of us were told to go to bed at a certain time, wake up at a certain time, do our homework after school, eat dinner at a regular hour, shower, even play with our friends at a specific time.
But what about us as adults?
Many grownups do not have a set daily routine and ‘wing’ their day…. every day.
But consistent success is hidden in your daily habits.
Habits are an undeniably powerful part of our lives. They help shape our decisions and our direction.
However, parting ways with our bad habits and replacing them with good ones is no easy task.
It requires commitment, willpower, and an unwavering desire to overcome your old habits of thinking, feeling, speaking, and acting.
Here’s a “Daily Dozen” that works for me……
- Give thanks every day for everything. Don’t focus on what you don’t have, appreciate what you do have.
- Spend time with your family. Quality time is important. Make calls, give love, and be kind.
- Write down your goals and dreams and visualize them every day. Writing your goals forces you to get clear on exactly what you want to accomplish, and helps motivate you to do the things you need to do to accomplish your goals.
- Have a vision board. Every day is a challenge so be very focused on the important things.
- Read at least 15 minutes daily. Read to learn and be sure to apply what you learn.
- Take action towards your goals. Writing it all down is important, but nothing happens if you don’t take action.
- Exercise daily. 10 minutes is better than zero. Find a program that works for you, make a plan, and stick to it.
- Positive affirmations daily. Life is uncertain and challenges are at every turn so your daily mental mindset training is important.
- Schedule what matters most. Otherwise, you will feel stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, and not living up to your true potential.
- Create a morning routine. Having a great morning routine can make all the difference in being productive, achieving goals, feeling organized, and doing all of this with confidence. Hitting the snooze button 4 times then rushing and trying to catch up is not a great way to start your day.
- Learn to Say ‘No’. Often! You need to make time for you – for rest and relaxation. Don’t take on more than you can handle.
- End each day with ‘Tomorrow’ on paper. Writing out tomorrow’s to-do list at the end of the workday boosts your productivity in two important ways. It helps clear your mind and increases your willpower.
Each of us is different and has different goals, needs, desires, and resources, but I have learned that designing and adhering to a personal daily routine is the path to freedom, productivity, happiness, and fulfilling our true potential.
It’s important to develop your own routine after carefully deciding what you want to achieve in your life.

Until next time…..
