I read an article on Success.com recently and wanted to share these 20 Life Lessons with you.
I’m a much better person now than I was 10 years ago.
I can’t go back and change anything, so I look forward to getting better and better every day.
Here are 20 tips to help you have a better tomorrow:
1. Learn something new every day.
Learning never stops.
If you learn one small thing each day, that adds up to 365 new things.
2. Things can and do change very quickly.
Be ready to make the most of it when things change quickly because they will.
Keep an eye on what’s happening around you and don’t lose sight of what you want to achieve.
3. Enjoy time spent with your family.
Over time you’ll know who the people are who truly matter.
Make time for them.
4. Get a clear plan in place for your mental health.
When you get into a dark place, you’ll need a good plan and a solid support system.
It’s important to see a doctor, talk about your mental health and educate yourself on as many strategies as possible to improve this part of your life.
5. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
Learn and move on.
We’ve all made mistakes and done some pretty stupid things.
Forgive yourself, learn from your mistakes and avoid making the same ones in the future.
6. Be honest.
It seems like a no-brainer, but honesty is the best policy.
Be honest with yourself and the people you love.
When you’re truly honest, the level of trust goes up and your relationships improve.
7. There is more to life.
Don’t seclude yourself.
Get out and experience new things.
8. Get your morning routine sorted.
For me, my morning routine is very important.
It puts me on the right track and in the right mindset to be humble, grateful, encouraging and productive for the remainder of the day.
9. Start writing things down.
Writing down your thoughts and ideas will improve mental clarity and creativity.
Fine or awesome ideas can pop up at the strangest times but won’t stay for long in your head.
So capture them fast or they’ll be gone in the wind.
10. Travel as often and as far as you can.
The best way I know to expand your mind and give yourself a new viewpoint on the world is to take a trip.
Traveling is an amazingly underrated investment in yourself.
As you travel you’re exposed to more new people, cultures, and lifestyles.
11. Give without expecting to receive anything in return.
Help people make connections that will give them the value they need and don’t expect anything in return.
“The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.”
12. Find what you are grateful for.
Every day, think of at least three things that you’re grateful for….. big or small.
This is a great habit to get into in the quiet moments throughout your day.
13. Don’t waste time with jerks.
We’ve all come across them, and sometimes it feels like they’re surrounding us.
When you and your time are not being valued, quit wasting your time and move on.
14. Take responsibility for everything.
No more excuses.
Everything that happens in your life is the direct result of what you have or have not done to get there.
So take ownership and start putting the building blocks in place now for a better tomorrow.
15. Take action beyond your comfort zone.
If you don’t learn this lesson you’ll end up with regret.
Push your boundaries and be open to new ways of doing things.
This can deliver enormous results.
16. Be patient.
Things do change quickly, but you’ll also need a great deal of patience and a mindset to be in it for the long haul.
Time, self-discipline and consistency are required no matter how dedicated or talented you are.
17. Enjoy the small moments along the way.
Some things will take time to materialize, so take time every now and then to celebrate what you’ve achieved so far.
It’s important to recharge yourself to help prevent burn out.
18. Speak up, or others will speak up for you.
Learn how to communicate your feelings because it’s important to have a voice.
If you don’t speak your mind and put your thoughts out there, don’t be upset when someone else does.
19. Back yourself.
Before you speak up, be confident in yourself and your abilities.
You can do this. You are capable of much more than you give yourself credit for.
20. Don’t be afraid to begin something new.
No one ever achieved anything worthwhile without having the courage to step out and walk a new path.
Playing small does nothing to serve the world.
So, begin, and keep going.
Until next time…..
