Many people feel as if they’re adrift in the world.
They work hard, but they don’t seem to get anywhere worthwhile.
They’re still living pay check to pay check and falling behind on their bills.
Sometimes all you need to do is work smarter not harder.
Here are 8 mistakes that may be holding you back financially:
- Not thinking the right way: It’s important to understand the thoughts and feelings you’ve developed about money based on your life experiences. Because our actions are often controlled by our thoughts, and having negative feelings about money will lead to negative financial decisions.
- Spending everything you make: Learn to live below their means, as opposed to spending everything that they just made.
- Setting unrealistic expectations: It’s great to dream big, but it’s important to be realistic. You’re not going to become a millionaire overnight. It takes a lot of hard work and patience to achieve your goals.
- Following others blindly: Mentors and words of wisdom from those who struck it rich are incredibly beneficial. But the truth is, what worked for them may not work for you. Be diligent in your research.
- Relying too much on plastic: Credit cards can be useful but it’s very easy to get yourself into credit card debt.
- Not planning for the long run: It’s important to look towards and plan for the future. Know where you want to go and what it will take to get you there. Anticipate obstacles and have a plan in place to handle those challenges.
- Spending time with the wrong people: Don’t waste their time associating with the wrong crowd. Avoid naysayers and negative people who keep telling you that you can’t achieve your dreams.
- Not believing in yourself: The biggest thing that’s holding you back is probably the fact that you don’t believe in yourself. Instead of second-guessing every move you make, trust your gut and go with your intuition instead of waiting for insights from those around you.
Ask any marathon runner and he’ll tell you that, you can’t expect to run 26 miles without the proper training and conditioning.
So, review the progress you’ve already made, know you’re headed and know what you need to do.
Until next time…..
