After years out of the hospital, I began working on a very busy surgical unit a long drive away from home…. (that’s another story.)
I bought the cutest pairs of shoes and felt really pretty going to work
But after the first month, my feet were killing me!
I suffered for months and tried several different pairs….. even resorted to covering my toes with bandages and putting sponges on my heels just to make it through the 12-hour shifts.
But that didn’t help.
After each shift, my feet were so sore that I couldn’t walk without tiptoeing around the house.
I finally decided to see the shoe specialist, Happy Feet…..
And the rest is history
My Dansko nursing shoes and my Kenkoh massaging slippers are the best things that happened to my feet!
Saying that to say this…..
How confident are you that you could come up with $2,000 if an unexpected need arose within the next month?
To manage your money and create wealth, you’ll need a strong grasp of personal finance basics.
And you’ll need the right tools.
Here are a few recommendations from Wells Fargo:
Always know where you stand – monitor your credit score, debt-to-income ratio, and budget on a regular basis.
Save for today and tomorrow – establish short-term and long-term savings goals and habits.
Make informed borrowing decisions – research your borrowing options without submitting an application.
Do the math – money comes in, money goes out.
For many people, this is about as deep as their understanding gets when it comes to personal finance.
To really understand where you are financially, and to figure out how to get where you want to be, calculate both your net worth and a personal budget on a regular basis.
Tracking your net worth over time allows you to evaluate your progress, highlight your successes and identify areas that require improvement.
Rather than ignoring your finances and leaving them to chance, a bit of number crunching can help you evaluate your current financial health and determine how to reach your short- and long-term financial goals.
Remember…….
Knowing about money and finances isn’t just for financial professionals or those with money, everyone can benefit.
I look forward to hearing from you!!
If you found value, please feel free to share!!!
Until next time…..
