I saw this headline recently in a Forbes Magazine article:
The Bravest Leaders Use This Powerful Four-Letter Word More Than You Think
Ok, don’t jump to a conclusion like I did…..
It’s not the four-letter word that comes to mind first!
It’s this one….
HELP
The article went on to say that “Help” is probably the hardest four-letter word to say in any business.
I also think, in general and in our finances, we all struggle to ask for help.
It can be nerve-racking. So most people prefer to suffer in silence rather than verbalize their need for help.
It all boils down to the fear of being judged.
Fear of rejection.
And fear of the word “NO!”
Here’s one key piece from the article….
When we find the courage to ask for help, modeling vulnerability, it creates a positive ripple effect. We give others permission to do the same, creating a culture and environment of openness and collaboration. We lead with empathy, which enhances connection and communication, and builds trust.
When you have the courage to ask for help….
- You’ll gain the ability to move forward.
- You gain the opportunity to collaborate.
- You gain the opportunity to learn.
So don’t be afraid to ask for help. You’re not alone. We all need help sometime.
When you do ask for help….
Pay attention to who is willing to answer that call and what they are willing to do for you.
Asking for help is not a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of strength.
Everyone needs some form of assistance at some point, and getting into the practice of asking for help becomes more comfortable over time.
Don’t stay stuck! Get Help!!
