In our culture today, we often equate wealth with materialism
Hence the gi-NORMOUS amount of debt!
And the ity-bity savings!!
Let me ask you……
Do you know how much you’ll need for retirement?
Are you on track to get there?
If you lost your job or your business dried up, how long would you last without borrowing?
How about debt……
If you have it, do you have a date when it will be eliminated?
Have you ever imagined the prospect of having no debt?
With your eyes closed…. or open
What would it feel like IF you were financially free?
No debt.
House paid off.
Plenty saved.
Good income.
No financial worries.
Can you imagine that?!
A good feeling….. RIGHT?
For many of us, financial freedom seems like an elusive dream….
Something that’s far-off….. too distant to even imagine.
But anyone can turn their life AND finances around.
It’s time to dream a bigger dream
And take the steps that will bring your dreams to life.
Here are 5 things that you should be doing:
1. Envision yourself financially free.
Imagining the possibility. Start seeing yourself in a better position financially. Rather than beating yourself up for mistakes or missteps, learn from them. Write down your money goals and post them where you will see them often. Create a financial vision.
2. Stop letting your emotions rule your money.
Does spending make you feel better at first? Then guilty? Are you trying to keep up with the Joneses? Emotional spending will curse your finances as you dig a deeper and deeper hole of debt.
3. Invest in more than a job.
Investing in education and knowledge will help maximize your earning potential. Invest in opportunities that will create a passive income, such as, a business venture or a solid real estate investment that can help you build recurring income over time.
4. Choose experiences over things.
Money spent on experiences with people brings more happiness than money spent on things. Gadgets are OK, but building emotional wealth will reap more meaningful rewards. Avoid the treadmill of wanting more and more stuff.
5. Save consistently and unrelentingly.
If you were taught to save as a child, you are ahead of the game! For many of us, saving is a skill that we must hone. While the amount you save is important, even more important is the consistency with which you save. Learning how to live on less than you make will help you save a lot move. Over time, you will WIN!
Sharing is Caring. If you found value, please feel free to share.
“You need a vision for your finances just as you need a vision for your life. Get clear. Write it down. Then start walking towards it.” – Valorie Burton
Until next time…..
