Virtually everyone, at one point or another, feels strong fear.
Most often though, we fear situations that are far from life-threatening
And our fears cause us to hang back because we don’t want to look foolish, be embarrassed, not know what to do, or feel like a novice.
What about you.…
Are you allowing fear of the unknown to derail your big plans and big dreams?
Once you venture out of your comfort zones, negative thoughts will rise to the surface and try to seduce you into doing nothing.
Thoughts like…..
“I’m going to mess everything up”
Or…. “I’m in way over my head”
Can cause your fears to escalate.
If you give in, your fear and doubts will hold you back.
Don’t allow your inner monologue to drag you down.
So….
Here are 10 tips to help you succeed:
- Create a Plan – identify your goal and write down steps to get you there.
- Learn the basics – some sweat equity is always required to get you from here to there.
- Get started – people fail by not starting. You will make mistakes and your first attempts may suck.
- Ask for help – identify your mentors, encouragers, and supporters. Know who is in your corner.
- Continue learning – mastering any skill takes time. Start small, start now and keep practicing and learning more.
- Test, optimize and improve – as you grow and learn, test and change.
- Make it a game – make it fun.
- Be consistent – consistency is everything.
- Celebrate every win – pat yourself on the back regularly. Celebrate the little things.
- Never, ever quit! Your dreams are bigger than any setback or challenge.
Life can become extremely overwhelming, but it’s your job to mitigate the obstacles it throws your way.
Because of fear and doubt, many of us never follow our dreams, never do the things we want to do, and never venture far from where we are right now.
And at other times, we play the victim and hold ourselves back from a life of betterment.
Rather than make fear an obstacle, push through your fears to accomplish your goal and make your dreams come true!
“If you want to conquer fear, don’t sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” Dale Carnegie
