Many people have no idea what it’s like to be debt-free. And many think that payments are just a way of life.
Many young adults start out their independence by attending college and taking out student loans to finance their education.
Then comes the numerous credit cards offers that are too attractive to resist.
Then once they graduate, they move onto car loans and mortgages, without stopping to think about becoming debt-free.
Payments then become a way of life.
That’s just the way it is.
But consider this……
The amount that you pay each month to consumer debt, what could do with it if you were not applying it to these debt payments each month?
What would it look like in 5 or 10 years, if you put that money towards savings or investing your wealth?
It’s time to change the way you think about debt.
People often mistakenly look at credit as an easy way to get the things they want now.
And fail to look at the long-term consequences and costs that debt brings.
I know….. I’ve been there.
Living debt-free will allow you to live the kind of life that you want to live.
It means having not to worry about payments or what would happen if you were to lose your job suddenly.
We can’t ever feel at peace when debt is in our life. It’s a ball-and-chain that prevents us from living our dream lifestyles. It also causes stress and will impact your health and wellbeing.
Whether you have a mountain of student loans or credit card debt, being shackled to these obligations can be frightful.
Young or old now is the perfect time to start thinking and planning and seizing control of your finances.
Although each person’s financial plan may look different, a BUDGET is the best place to start. Set up an Emergency Fund, write down your goals then plan the steps you need to take to achieve them.
So, from the words of Proverbs,
Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.
