Life can get hectic and chaotic at times, and losing focus of what matters most is a frequent consequence.
Can you relate?
It happens…..
We are in the middle of a pandemic and the presidential election is looming. 2020 has been quite chaotic, to say the least.
This has nothing to do with whether you vote or not, and I do hope you’ll exercise your right to do so.
But, why does it matters to you who becomes president?
Are you hoping that your life will get better?
Are you hoping for a handout or a hand up?
I totally agree with Darren Hardy:
“It doesn’t matter who is in the White House in regards to how your life works out. The only person responsible for your present reality and your future opportunities is you. Hope, change and the betterment of your future are not dependent upon who lays their head on the pillow in the White House. You have to take responsibility for your own hope. You have to be the creator of your own change. You have to design and act on your own better future. Nobody is going to do it for you, not even the President. The only person responsible for your present reality and your future opportunities is YOU.”
Darren Hardy
It’s tempting to blame every bad thing that happens to you on this person who seemingly has infinite power.
That’s not the right attitude.
Life often places us in situations that we don’t like, that limit our freedom and make us feel trapped.
You may work a job you don’t like, not have enough money, or have too many responsibilities and too little time.
But, at the end of the day, you are responsible for your life.
And you need to take charge, instead of leaving your life at the mercy of circumstances or other people.
Here are a few tips to get you started:
- Develop your inner strength by strengthening your willpower and self-discipline.
- Stop taking things personally. This might not be easy, but it is possible and is the most rewarding tip. Remember, not everything people say is about you.
- Get rid of your negative thoughts. Always replace your negative thoughts with positive thoughts. When you catch yourself thinking negative thoughts, immediately shift your attention away from them to positive thoughts. This takes practice until this becomes a habit.
- A peaceful mind is most useful. When your mind is at peace, you’ll have more control over your life. You’ll be less stressed, feel less rushed, and able to think more clearly. You’ll also have fewer worries, fears, or anxieties and instead will feel more confident and strong.
- Believe in yourself and a higher power. You might feel weak, shy, or uncomfortable to say what’s on your mind but no one is better or stronger than you are. So learn to become more assertive and change any negative image you have of yourself. Believe that you have a purpose and that you have everything you need to fulfill it.
